Alcohol and its Demand

During the time of Prohibition, the demand for alcohol went way up and their were a select few who were willing to get it and sell it to those who would buy, one of them being Al Capone. To those who could aquire it this was a time to make alot of money really fast. Despite the ammendment's attempt to lower crime in only increased it and made the average American a criminal.

Illegal, yet profitable

Secret casino's and bootleggers interests became alligned, during the Prohibition and Al Capone owned both and ran both and made alot of money from it. This along with drinking occured in small secret places called speakeasies. 

Simple Protection

One of the many things Al Capone did was known as racketeering where a shop owner was threatened and made to pay in order to protect their shop from bad things they may happen and that will if you miss a payments.
